Freddie Mac mortgage rate survey: 2026-09-24

Freddie Mac's 2026-09-24 national survey reported a 7.03% 30-year fixed-rate average and a 6.42% 15-year fixed-rate average. These are national survey averages, not a 7th Level Mortgage quote.

What the survey reported

Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey dated 2026-09-24 shows a 7.03% national average for the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage and a 6.42% national average for the 15-year fixed-rate mortgage. These figures come from Freddie Mac's national survey and describe its survey population. They do not represent a rate available to a particular borrower.

What to compare

An individual loan quote depends on credit, down payment or equity, loan amount, property, occupancy, loan type, points and the time a quote is prepared. Ask for current written pricing and compare the annual percentage rate, estimated cash to close, monthly payment and any points or lender credits. A weekly average should be used as context for a conversation, not as a personal quote.

Programs and eligibility depend on qualification and current guidelines.
